Hey yall. What is your favorite Marlin .22? Mine would definitely have to be the Marlin M60. I just love that thing. I havent had hardly any problems from em. I just love going for a Sunday evening shoot, and poping off a coupla rounds with that thing

All my Marlin .22's are lever guns. But my favorite is the Golden 39A made in'67.

I would have to say it's a tie between the model 60 and the model 25N.Both of mine shoot flawlessly. :)

I only own one Marlin .22 and it is the model 60.  so far so good.  I've shot it three days in a row and have had only one FTE.  Put around 750 rds. through it so far.  Tried several different kinds of ammo and it eats it all.  Does very well accuracy wise as well.  I've got a couple of Rom 69s that I thought were tack drivers but the Marlin outshoots them  when compared side by side using the same ammo.  Great buy too.  Got it for $99 @ Academy NIB.

My favorite is definitely my Model 39A Golden Mountie.  Its AC serial number prefix means it was made in 1967 or 1969.  I don't remember which right now.  I bought it new in 1970.  I have fired thousands of rounds through it over the years.  I taught my son to shoot with it.  Love it!

Mine is a 881.  Since I am just kind of getting into .22 shooting I really dont know if it is a good centerfire or not.

I've only handled one bolt-action .22LR, so I really dont know much about the quiality of bolt action .22s. The one I've got is an old Sears and Roebuck with 5 round round magazine. Dont shoot it very much though. Be neat if Marlin or Ruger could make a realistic reproduction of a Springfield '03 in .22LR, and made stripper clips, now that would be fun, Id buy one in a heartbeat 8)

This is easy!!  I was married to my QUEEN in 1968.   In 1966, she took a weeks pay, and bought me a MODEL 80 for Christmas.  It has served me well for over 38 years.   It will go to my first grandchild.

Yep, ditto on the Model 80 - an 80DL in my case.  An excellent shooter, as sporters go - and not much shy of a couple "target rifles" I have.  With the Lyman 57 rear peep and the ASA front globesight, it's setup like a "poorman's target rifle"!   :-)

I also love my old Model 88 semi auto - but it direly needs a scope!  No easy way to install one though.  :?

My favorite is the model 39TDS lever action with the 16"barrel  . My next would be my model 60 stainless with laminate stock. Then comes the 922M in .22 mag and the 39 Carbine.

39AS.  I know, I know, most don't like the crossbolt safety.  But I have no problem with it.  Still, would like to add the 16.5" carbine model, if I could find one...

Longwinters,

Don't worry about the 881's not being a good 22. I bought my wife one in the early 90's and it shot so good that I went and got me one also. I have more 22's than than any thing else. I really enjoy shooting them. Carl L.

I love my M60 ( mine is acually glenfield 65 but they are no different).  That thing shoots everything accuratly and always works.  I refinished it blued/coated receiver and new sights. Still want a new stock, or refinish. Gotta like the large capacity magazine.
Its not a 22 but i love my 917 its awsome shoots every bullet in the same hole- trigger job, bedded, shortened magazine, pretty awsome just tends to destroy what it hits, im thinking about getting rid of it in favor or a 22 mag or something better for hunting. TC

Two 39A's made in the late 40's.

One wears a receiver peep sight. I use that one for NRA Smallbore Cowboy Silhouette.

One has a 1940's Weaver 4X scope in an early Leupold solid base mount that is attached to the rear of the barrel.  I have only owned this one for about a week and it's a shooter.  I fired two 10 shot groups @ 50yards with PMC Scoremaster ammunition and both groups were inside 1"!

I have model 60 Marlins, but the old 22" barreled Glenfield 60 with it's high cheek piece fits me much better with a scope mounted.  Wish it had the last shot hole open like the later model 60 Marlins.  The fact that it's more accurate than my much modified Marlins is also a point in it's favor.

I gotta go with my Model 39.  Load it with CCI mini-mags and it is a straight up consistant tack driver.

Mine is a prewar model 80 that my uncle gave me in 1945. I refinished the stock in our high school woodshop (just try that now!) and added a 4X Weaver scope and later a Bushnell Banner which it still carries. I used it at club shoots and harvested many squirrels and it still shoots as good as my fancy newer guns.
