This is a tough one because I am extremely fond of Marlins. I currently have 8 of them and all but 2 are rimfires. As for Marlins my gun cabinets currently contain:
1- original 39A Golden
1- Marlin Glenfield 989 M2
1- Model 60
1- Model 25n
2- Model 25mn (one with the original square style stock that they first came with and the other with a fancier checkered version that matches my 25n. just had to have it because it matched)
1- 1894 .44 mag
1- 1894C .357 mag
If I had to narrow it down it would either be my 39 or my 989. Everyone of them is a great shooter but I would probably have to lean towards the 989 a little more because of sentimental reasons (it was my fathers and he gave it to me for my first .22). I took my first woodchuck, squirrel, and rabbit with that 989. It still has the old weaver 4 x 3/4 inch tube scope on it that it had when my dad bought it and it will still shoot an entire 7 shot clip into a group that I can cover with a dime at 35 yards.
