Are there any good quality 10 and 20 round  detachable magazines for the SKS?

Save yourself a lot of aggravation and frustration with your SKS and just use the regular magazine.98% of the aftermarket magazines are total crap.Been there,done that.

Stripper clips are much cheaper also.

I have some orginal duckbill 20rd and 30rd mags that work awesome but I have had some later manufactured duckbill mags that needed some tweekin to make them feed the plastic pusher seemed to be too wide in the mag body and they would stick.  I did disassemble it and sanded the width down and lubed it and it feeds fine.  Some of the used stuff at gun shows I've had problems with too maybe thats why their for sale?

Stan is right.  Really don't need more than 10 rounds (we hope).  That being said, the internal magazine is cleaner, can't get dinged and cause misfeeds, allows for easy top-off (or bottom-off if you wish), is always with the rifle, etc.  Also correct that stripper clip reloads can be as fast or faster than magazine change.
I think the Russians were smart - designed a foolproff and reliable system.  Magazines became necessary on AK in part because of full-auto fire, which is not a consideration with SKS.

I think the plastic pusher in the steel body mag is the problem once we take the pusher out and fit it loose in the mag it operates the way it should.  Plinking with a 20 or 30rd mag is awesome I like to run one mag full at my camp with some empty cans this is when the fun starts.  BigBill
