Hammer Extension
« on: September 21, 2004, 07:22:22 AM »
Hello, does anyone have any preferences towards a type or brand of hammer extension? Got the scope mounted on my new Encore last night and it looks like I'll definitely be needing one. So far I've come up with one from VV thru Midway or from the VV website, but that's the only one I've been able to locate so far. Just thought I would check with you all before I made my order.  Thanks!  CRR       P.S.  I appreciate all the wecoming posts earlier, I think I'm gonna like it here.

Mine is from Virgin Valley and it is fine, made of lightweight aluminum.  I'm not exactly sure of their status for accessories, I understand they are closing the barrel and stock operations down.

I also under stand that Mike B's are good as well.

I would stay away from the steel ones offered on Ebay.  They seem significantly heavier that the aluminum ones.

Thanks for the info Smoky. I just ordered one from Mike B, I took a hard look at VV but all the negative posts about their quality and service I figure were posted for a reason,I think I made the right choice.
