Who's shooting the postal match?
« on: September 22, 2004, 12:09:29 AM »
If I don't get my cards done this week-end I won't make this round. I've done a lot of shooting but, mostly load testing.
If the wind and rain stay away, I'll send in 2 cards; possibly 3.
no x now!

good luck to all who shoot

back to the bad lands hunt.many nice 22 to 24 inch mule bucks were seen and 2 were seen with spreads of around 30 inchs.this was a spot and stock hunt pretty much.we didnt get a mule deer but we had great time.im going back again next year,i got to have one of these nice mule bucks.one must work out and get in better shape to hunt this country.its kind of like hunting desert country.

Well I have gotten interested in this postal match thing.  Not sure I understand all the rules but will figure it out.  I tried a couple of cards today with my 223 UV.  Dang nab it.  Why does that 4th or 5th shot blow a good group out to over 1".  Well, Lord willin, there is always another day at the range.  Dang wind was blowing ever which day today.  Course this is Oklahoma.  Friend said one time if the flag is hanging straight down, just means the wind is blowing straight down that day.

I have cards in .38 Spec and .45-70 ready to go. They're more a showing the flag thing than a serious effort to win. I know I could cut both groups by a third with a little more shooting.

I should have cards in 45-70 and .223 for this match.

I know what you're talking about Donaldo.   You should come out here to the Panhandle.  Think the wind blows down there?
30 mph winds are a breeze up here

I shot a fairly nice 44 magnum group (for me) this afternoon. I think I will shoot my 22 LR and Magnum tomorrow.

I'm trying...everytime I try to get over to the range...something comes up

Lord willing and the creek don't flood...I'll try again this week to wring out the Whelen a-little...

WLscot,
Read you on that wind.  Lived in Borger when I was a kid and in Woodward later.  Griped about the wind so much, then once it stopped blowing for two days.  One day was 108 and the next was 110.  Just wanted that wind to blow again.  This summer has been so nice, very little wind and no 100 plus temps.  Surely the Russians and messing with the weather again.

I saw this post a bit late, actually I thought it was for the last match  . Count me in for the next one though. Thanks to Wlscott for making this happen. I intend to start handloading for my Hornet and am shopping for a scope for my Sporty in .22 lr. In short count me in for 2 entries for the next match.

One quick question though, I understand this is fairly informal but is a witness required for the cards? I am not questioning anyones integrity but it wasn't covered in the sticky post above.
