We regret to inform you that we are closing the shop. We are no longer
taking new orders for Encore/Contender barrels, stock sets, or bolt gun
work. We will be winding down operations over the next month or so. During
that time we will be trying to finish up as many open orders as we possibly
can. Those customer orders that we cannot finish up will be issued refund
checks for any deposits paid. The orders we will be concentrating on are
Encore/Contender barrel orders and open bolt gun orders. If you have a stock
set or forend included with your barrel order or bolt gun work, or had just
a stock set or forend ordered, those items will be not completed so a refund
check will be issued for your paid deposit within the next few weeks. In
addition, any related parts, pieces or accessories furnished to us for any
job not completed will be returned to you.

Thats to bad they did a trigger job for me I was very pleased. I know some were not happy with there work. They had every right to voice there opinion. If you call your self custom work should leave the building  custom. The custom business is hard there's no room for sloppy work. I'am just wonder what fred is thinking and if any of the guy's called him up for a job?

I wonder what the cost-to-do-business is with the custom builders? I can imagine that the equipment is very expensive, but it seems to me that it's a fairly good business being the Encore is a very popular gun. I'd hate to see any of the other builders have hard times, I'll proudly support them as much as my barrel budget can handle.

In my humble opinion.. I think VVG failed because of employee/family conflicts, they seemed to be pulling in plenty of orders so the money shouldn't have been a major factor.
