Some would disagree with my choice since it is a lower end scope price wise, but it has worked very well for me.
I put a BSA Mil-Dot 8x32x44 from Cabelas on my 308 and it passed the zero test, by this I mean I zeroed at 200 yards and then moved up 8 clicks, right 8 clicks, down 8 clips and left 8 clicks, and ended up with the same POI. This is apparently from my research a true test of the scopes function.
I do only use mine when firing set at 10x since that is the proper setting for the mil-dot ranging. I only go to a higher power if I don't happen to have my spotting scope with me.
I have not tried to increase magnification to a higher level to see what happens to POI. I had read that at the higher magnifications the POA would change from my understanding. Anyone please correct me I have misunderstood this.
I do agree that the leopold is a great scope, but did not want to spend that much since I only target shoot, and not in competitions with this rifle.
I know this is a late post considering the original date of your post but just now noticed it.
