« on: September 27, 2004, 01:07:27 AM »
I just bought a TC Encore 209x50 and I am looking for a primer capper to fit.Cabelas has a capper made by TC but I was told by them it would not work on the Encore. Any help would be appreciated.

i've not found that a capper is needed with my 209x50, i just break the action open and put a primer in with my fingers...

I did not use one either. I had no problem putting the 209 primer in. :D

The only reason I use one is to keep my primers where I know where they are at in my pocket when hunting.  The only one I know that works with the Encore is the one T/C makes that is basically a plastic stick with a primer slid in each end.  As the others said a capper is not really needed for priming.  I now use a Cash Capper and just pull a 209 out and prime the gun with my hand, but it does keep the caps where I know they are at when hunting.
