Don't know anything about this particular rifle, But i have a story about
the 597 semi-auto. I bought a new one about three years ago thinking it would be a good knocking around rifle to take with me when i was out in the country,,,,,,,,well that was the biggest hunk of junk i ever walket out of a store with. You couldn't hit a bull in the butt at ten feet with that hunk
of junk. It took a one way trip with me to the gun show and never came back. Stay safe....Adios Amigos......Joe.........

One of my cousins bought a 597 the year they came out and had the same inaccuracy problem, it was by far the worst Remington I ever handled...He got rid of it too.

I have shot a few Remington rimfire pumps and have always liked them...the 572 and a couple old Fieldmasters(model 121 :? I think???)
one of my uncles has a 572 from the late 50's and I have hunted with it and had no problems dropping tree rats off the sides of trees out to 35-40 yards(probally farther) with the open sights....but you know what they say "Ain't nuthin' made like it used to be." :grin:

Maybe the 572 is still made like they used to be?

I bought a Rem. 597-M several years ago. To this day, it's NOT jammed or failed to fire, not even one time.

I have a 7.5X Leupold scope on it, and i fired 3 shots resting in on my 4 wheeler. You can see from the pict., it shoots pretty good!!

I've settled on Rem. ammo, and this summer so far, i've shot about a dozen pest, includeing several chucks.

I'm very happy with my purchase,

Well 7Mag, I have a friend who owns a 50th Anniversary 572 Field Master and it's a beautiful gun. Being that it's 50 years old has some dings and some wear and tear...but other than that last I knew of it shot pretty dang good for 50 and functions just as well. One of these days I'll have a 572 and a 504 in my gun cabinet....* mind wanders into dream like state :roll: *. Hope this helped. Peace out.
