one question for you .307 shooters, can i use regular .308 dies and a .444 shell holder to reload? also, since this is a tubular magazine, can i use the 170gr flat point .30-30 bullets in the .307? will they hold up to the higher velocities over the .30-30?

Yes, use .308 dies. I think you use the same shell holder as for .30-30 and that I think is also same as .444 or .44 mag. Best I recall all are same. BUT I might be thinking of the .225 Win. that uses .30-30. Check a chart. I have to every dang time.    Or just pull out the Lee shell holder set and see what fits.

Sadly there really are no bullets I'm aware of made just for this round. I'd most definitely use 170s only or 180 RNs.

It may have a beefed up action due to the higher pressure of the 307 round; but it definitely IS NOT A BIG BORE!

Having said that however you have a great gun; chambered for a fine round!

David I think what Chris is refering to is  that the 307 was included in that group of high powered rounds that was introduced as the Big Bore 94 Series. As I recall it included 307 Win, 356 Win and 375 Win. Any others I`m forgetting? POW

Remember, use 307 data, not 308.  Case capacity won't let you load that much powder.  Don't forget 150gr bullets.  What you wind up with is a nice, rimmed 300 Savage in a saddle gun.  The only ones I know of that think that's a bad thing are about a zillion dead deer.  Enjoy.

cknight98-

Doesn't Nosler make a 170 grain, .308", flat-point Partition?  I haven't unpacked my reloading manuals yet, but I seem to remember they do, and that might be an ideal bullet for the .307.
