tweeking tips needed.
« on: September 29, 2004, 03:45:35 AM »
First of all I love this forum, I just joined and must say that it is great to find guys as sick and twisted in the hand cannons as I.  I am new to encores. I have one in 7-08 with the factory wood. it has 3x9 tc scope ( simmons) i think. I have read post about doing trigger jobs yourself and about using tape to " float " the barrels. I have looked and can not find those threads. Can anyone help?

in the beginning......i used black electrical tape to help float the barrel. if i recall, graybeard had suggested it. it works fine.
now, i actually prefer to use stainless steel washers placed between the barrel and forearm. make sure the barrel touches the wood, little as possible. if it needs some minor sanding on the sides etc.......... try to make a dollar bill slide somewhat freely between forearm and barrel.

if ya have any questions, or wanna talk with a fellow "TC NUT!" feel free to email me. i also have a 7-08, and love it. :-)

brought some older threads on trigger stuff back up to the top. just have to use the search feature, and try different subjects etc. any reply to that thread brings it back to top...."btt"

Thanks guys, i used the electric tape in the forearm channel and my groups shrunk drasticly. While the trigger squeeze problem I have decided need not be done at this time. I have corrected my hold on the pistol " higher " so that I am now shooting it like a 1911 and the trigger is not as noticable.
