I'm quite happy with the Beeman 5039 adjustable high mount that I snagged a few days ago based on advice I got on this forum. It's carrying a BSA 3-12/50. The mount was reasonably easy to adjust, even for a neophyte like me, and I got a pretty darn accurate 10-yd zero without even touching the scope turrets. Two deceased marauding squirrels could attest to that. I amazed even myself, although I do believe that it was more a measure of the mount's quality than my own cleverness.
You don't have to take the scope out of the mount to adjust it (the mount, that is). Just pull the mount off the rifle to adjust elevation; the scope stays in the rings. And you can even leave the whole shebang on the gun to adjust windage.
Right now, I'm using the mount on a Winchester 1000, which has considerable barrel droop and recoil, and the scope seems to be holding its zero even after a goodly number of pellets down the tube. Someday, I suppose I'll yield to temptation and put a better quality rifle under the scope. But I'm confident that I'll still be able to use the mount despite barrel droop, recoil or lack thereof on a new gun.
