Looking for a Tree Rat Shooter!
« on: October 01, 2004, 05:14:28 AM »
I'm looking for a Lighter weight .32 cal squirrel/Rabbit rifle,
I like the way the CVA rifle looks and I also like the traditions
Crockett. Any OPINIONS one way or the other out there?
I'm in the process of building a custom rifle and pistol in .32
cal. but it isn't going to be ready for a while. My current rifle is
pretty heavy. so I figure I'll just purchas a shorter rifle
already made.

I used to have a Crockett .32 & it is a good rifle for the $.  It will easily shoot under 1" groups at 25 yards with 25 grains of 3F Goex, Lehigh Lube, .310 RB & ,017 pllow ticking. With Swiss I shot same or better groups using 20 grains of 3F.

I now have a Nice Crockett thanks to Graybeard,
but I havn't had the time to burn any powder in it yet!
ML Deer season started here in Georgia and My spare time
is being spent with a .54 caliber instead of a .32!

What Birddog6 said.  My Crockett actually likes .315 balls better but it is really an accurate shooting rifle.  You can get one from Midsouth for just over $200.
Do it outdoors!!

Or......you could look at a 36 CAL Underhammer Hopkins & Allen action! Check out Bruce Lingenfelter's site at:

These are some shooters, with fast lock time, and only 2 moving parts!
Squirrel.......the OTHER dark meat.....!

Traditions also makes the DeerHunter in 32 caliber. It is very light and has the straight English stock. You can then buy from Traditions a 50 caliber barrel and have both.
