New to TC Encore

I am new to TC firearms. I live in an area where the shots on most game animals tend to average around 150-250 yards. I am interested in finding a caliber for an Encore that will take Antelope, Deer, and javelina without blowing them away. I had been debating a .25-06 or a .300 win mag. I would also love to know some good recipes for these two calibers if anyone has one. Thanks

Welcome to GBO.
I would say take a look at the 6.5 JDJ. I have had a lot of good fun shooting mine, Its super accurate and holds up good over distance. It would be a good 200 yd deer gun. Good luck with what ever you decide to go with...........Joe..........

I am leaning to the .25-06

I think that you guys are right. The .300 does leave a good size hole. The .25-06 is readily available too. My brother suggested a 6.5x55(or something like that) He said that it a real good round for my area. Do any of you have any knowledge of this round? Thanks for all of the replys.

Amen to Chris and Redhawk.
 The 7/ 08 is a great choice. It will take anything in TX at 200 yards without disecting it. The 2506 is awesome too but I shoot it out of a #1. It has killed a few west TX white tails with one shot. The 6.5x55 is an excellent cartridge. It is to Europe what the  06 is to us. In a pistol I would shoot a 120 to 130 to get my velocity up. I shoot it out of a 24" savage with 140 sierra boattails with great results. The sectional density and BC are superb.
