New 1895GS(non-ported) shoots great

I went to the range this morning and tried out my new non-ported 1895 GS and it shoots as good if not better than my ported one  Both my favorite loads for it the 300 grain Nosler partition and the Hornady 350 gr.FP Interlock punched neat 1" holes at 100 yards on 5 shots and I couldn't be happier...also put one of those Simms Limbsavers on it...and it matched up perfectly...first time I ever had that happen...seems like I always have to file some off...this one is the Model #10102...and man does it work great...couple that with the Uncle Mike's neoprene shell holder with a little foam under it...may shoulder and cheek doesn't hurt one bit even though I shot 120 rounds from the bench...all those that recommended this recoil pad...Thank You very much...I used to be a Pachmayer fan...but this one is much better....

I had the same experience. Marlin 1895 45.70 with PMC HA +P+, 40 rounds, notenderness, no bruising, 1 1/4 inch groups. The limbsaver really makes the difference doesn't it! I was so impressed I've put them on all my rifles!

LMM:
I can honestlly say that the combination of the pad and the homade cheek piece from the neopreen Uncle Mikes shell holder makes all the difference with the straight stock and using a scope...before I started using it...I could only get about 30-40 full house rounds before having to stop...even with the porting ...now with out it..I don't seem to gret my teeth waiting for the muzzle blast...much nicer on me and those around me...it's still loud...but not as much as it was before...and I was worried it would kick more than it did...this is definatly a winning combination all around.... and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to shoot a-lot...
