St. Helens talking again

The old volcano woke up again today. I live about 35 miles or so straight west of the mountain and I saw the little puff that she produced today. It was a beautiful clear day and the little puff that came out of the the crater was the only cloud in the sky.
I got on my trusty XL 600 and rode up on a hill north of here to get a better look in case the mountain continued to spout. The mountain must have shot its wad for the day; nothing else happened. I did see a nice spike elk on the way down the hill though.

I still remember the 1980 "burp". I walked out to get the cows in for the morning milking and got hit in the head with gobs of mud the size of quarters. I'm not as close to her as you are. Keep a hat on....

The news says that a major eruption is imminent, or already in progress. Better get out the helmets and gas masls. POWDERMAN. :? :? :? :? :? :?

Let's hope she don't blow her top as bad as the last time.

The mountain may well blow something, but it won't be its top. The top went away in 1980. What would be nice, would be for the mountain to rebuild itself.

St. HelenÂ’s was active again this morning with a big steam burst and maybe ash.
I grew up looking at that wonderful cone and would like to see it get rebuilt. But it will be raining soon (within a week) and there will go any chance to see it rebuilding.
