32-20 Ruger's oversight
« on: October 03, 2004, 04:31:41 PM »
I own a Ruger Buckeye 32-20/32 H&R. What I would like to see is Ruger standardize the 32-20 in the blackhawk. Everyone should have the oppurtunity to own a Blackhawk 32-20! This is without a dought the finiest small bore revolver round. Loaded with modern powders H110/296 or LIl Gun modern bullets as the Hornady 85gr or 100gr. XTPS or a good 115gr cast gascheck is a real performer. Have taken everything from a the little goffers to called coyotes. Ruger does not only neglect the big bores in Blackhawk ie, 480,475,500, but also neglects the real secert the 32-20

They just a short time ago had the Davidson's edition Vaqueros in .32 mag/.32-20.  Without any type of following or consumer interest in the cartridge, I doubt we'll ever see a cataloged .32-20 model in the Blackhawk.  At least on the Vaquero platform it would maybe appeal to the CASS folks.  Not many compatible CASS guns chamberd it it either is there?  Ammo availability would likely need an equally timed re-introduction as well to make it worth while.

Hi 45WLN,
I have one of the blackhacks that has the funny looking flower or leafs on the top of the gun.
At the time I got it a 32 H&R was same price as one with the 32/20 cylinder.
Have shot a lot of reloads in it just at paper. At the time I got my gun Ruger most of just used a 30 carbine barrel.
Shoots best with suplus 680WC and a speer 130 grain bullet at around 1700pfs.
Just got a blackhawk in 30 Carbine have not shot it much but seems to spit the fire about the same as my 32/20 load.
Have a 32/20 contender barrel coming then I can play with longer bullets.
I myself would like to see a stainless blackhawk in 32/20 with a little longer cylinder.

32/20 Rugers

Howdy,
I envy you guys.  :(  I almost acquired a Ruger in 32/20 awhile back, but it is in a prohib. class on this side of the border, and I didn't keep up my licence, so lost out. Due to some moronic gov't notion  and action, this cal. became a prohib. class. same as 25 cals.....go figure. Well at least Marlin has the 32/20 in their Cl rifles.
