N. American Grand Slam with a milsurp
« on: October 03, 2004, 05:05:40 PM »
jim shockey did it with a front stuffer, and chuck adams did it with a bow, but has anyone taken all 29 species of north american big game with a milsurp? i doubt it. what would be the one rifle to use if you were to undertake such an adventure? i would say probably an 8MM mauser or a .30-06, but thats too common. lets say with a caliber other than .308 or .30-06. in that case i would probably go for a MN 91/30 with 215 gr bullets

I'd vote for the Mosin or the K31.  So, who can name all the animals in the Grand Slam? :-)

No Nope none of those :D   I believe it may have been Elmer Keith he's the one who started the handgun hunting craze and the Big Bore handguns too.  He was the first guy shooting/hunting with them.    BigBill
