Not bad, A lot of wind and rain, but no broken trees on my house. A lot of people lost power due to downed trees on lines.
I was lucky and did not lose power. Minimal (I think "Zero") fatalities.
I'm Thankful.

Hi folks. I am a 43 year old newbie over here in Colesville Maryland about ten miles north of D.C. I have done a lot of shooting, reloading, gunsmith tinkering, and pyrotechnics. The pyro stuff got me working with lots of black powder and I remembered I had a little stainless .45 cal replica of a cannon used the U.S.S. Constitution I had bought maybe 20 years ago. I took it out and shot it a bunch and got bit by the cannon bug. I have grand plans of lathes, cannon building, and collecting. We will see what in reality what really happens but for now I am happy I found you fine folk and this very informative forum. ~Zane

A Montana native stuck in SE Washington State.
Just found this site yesterday and spent half the night reading.  I have wanted to build some miniture cannons for yrs and when some other projects are complete, or nearly so, will start on one.  Maybe a BB cannon and work up.  This sure looks like the right place to learn.

Point Pleasant WV. Where the Kanawaha River and the Ohio River meet. Our Indian brothers called it Tuewendiwe, mingling of the waters. Mass quantities of deer, turkeys and small game. Plenty of fishing and water time pleasures. Also some Black Bear showing up once in awhile.

Welcome guys to our little gathering.  Glad to have you you.

Tell us about your experience  with cannons.  Are you "makers and shooters" or "just shooters".  We like both here.

We like pictures your build and we especially like pictures of smoke an fire! Show is what you are doing.

Got questions ask them.  The only dumb question is the one you don't ask!

Drove through there a couple of days ago on my way from Virginia to visit relatives in Des Moines and MNPLS.
Good folks in that neighborhood!

I haven't been on this forum in probably 3-4 years. Right now, I am stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska with 2-8 FA, but am currently Downrange. I was a preacher before I joined the Army a couple years ago--hence the name. In the past, I have owned a golf ball-bore field cannon, of which I was really proud, made by Dom. I plan to acquire a soda can or 12-pound mortar and build the base myself, so I can have something to play with in the big land of Alaska.  ;D

Where, BTW, when our football team scores a touchdown the cadets fire a cannon salute to let everyone in town know the score :)

A WW2 vintage cannon with about a 4" bore that can easily be heard 3 miles away at my house.

Southwestern CT, on the NY border; an hour outside of NYC and 20 minutes from the LI Sound.
We can almost lob GBs into the People's Republic of NY from here.

Anybody else here from the area?

Tishomingo County.  Prettiest part of our state.  Wife and I went to Tishomingo State Park last fall and it was beautiful.  It's almost like being in the mountains, very different from the rest of the Magnolia State.
