I live about an hour away from Bismarck North Dakota. I am new to cannons and very thankful for this site. I think it's wonderful what all you have done here, thank you. I plan on buying a golf ball cannon and a can mortar this summer, any recommendations?

Welcome to the board, glad to have you. Be sure and ask questions if you have any. At the top of the forum we have a bunch of sticky notes that will help you better understand what our board is about.

The Reference sticky has a lot neat info in it, including a list of post to various projects the the folks here have built over the years. Those post will give you some ideas for you own projects. We do like projects her. Take a good look at that post there is some interesting stuff there.

If you are looking for guns to buy take a look at our sponsors. You will find them listed in the GBO Sponsors sticky. Drop them an email and ask them what they can do for you. Be sure to tell them thanks for sponsoring our board.

Newark, Ohio, Love the board, been on for a while... I'm a builder and shooter.. Biggest build so far is a 3" mountain Howitzer.. A friend does the cav carriages and I do the ship carriages... Make all the barrels out of sch 160-180 tubing. Proof test out in the boonies with a quad(4) load equiv of BP just like the old timers did, have never had a barrel fail the proof test yet. Knock on wood... BTW I spent 6 yrs in the army as Explosive Ordnance Disposal... LOL know ALL ABOUT BIG BOOMS!!! AND THE DANGERS OF THE BUILD....

New to the Board, my name is Brad Wolff and I'm glad to find a bunch of cannon-lovers that are knowledgeable and who generously share it

I live in Sunny Palm Springs, Ca. (it's a dry heat!). 3 years in Army Infantry, and a firearms guy for about 40 years - including Black Powder; certified in high-power rocketry, and a member of the Western Pyrotechnic Ass'n (W.P.A.).

I'll post pics of my newest brass tube, which is an odd one, I think.

Well here I am, just what this forum needs. Another new member. I am in Las Vegas, a city you may have heard of. I do machine work for a hobby and enough business to pay for my hobby. A few weeks ago I got roped into making a golf ball mortar for a friend, just the barrel & trunnion he will finish the other parts.
So I have a little time on my hands and thought I would make something for me.

Thanks for the welcome. As I said made a golf ball mortar for a friend. Looking to do something in that size or a little smaller if that works out I may try my hand at a cannon. Any advice on places to look?
