This is one problem that I never liked about hammer guns. When I first got my Ultra, I had a Simmons 3-9x40 installed for break-in and what not. This was the scope I had clearance issues with. When I put the spur onto the hammer, it would just nick the bottom of the scope. Well, with the $50 dollar Simmons, I almost knew that it would affect my POI when the scope was being banged every shot.
The simple fix I made was just putting higher rings on. Then I had plenty of clearance though the scope was a mile off the base.
After about two days, I took the Simmons off and mounted a Swift Premier 6-18X44 M669. Right now, the bell of the scope just clears the barrel making for a very nice fit. However, I have a ways to go yet on the objective hitting the hammer or hammer spur. It seems like the scope, rings, and base were made for the gun  Plus the 18X really helps on popping g-hogs at extended ranges....
