Good deal?

I found a NIB NEF Ultra Hunter .444 Marlin.  It's been on the shelf for awhile.  There original price was $270.00 they now have it on clearance for $230.00.  I'm not familiar with the pricing on these to know if it is a good deal or par for the course.  Good deal?

I don't think the Handi is offered in that caliber anymore - sounds good to me.

There are enough people wanting 444s and 450s that you should be able to sell an unscratched used gun for $230 or so if you don't like it.

I think you'd pay at least that for ANY Ultra rifle, and as was stated the 444 was discontinued.  I'd say jump on it if that was a caliber you're interested in.

It might be on the older SB-2 receivers, preventing high pressure barrels like 308 etc from being put on it though.  You'd have to have the serial number to verify.  look it up in the FAQ section.
