I was using CCI caps the other day,had a few that did not go off. Some went off did not fire the rifle. No other changes,used RWS cap,worked great. Has CCI changed their caps?I was using #11(not mags). I live in wyoming,finding RWS caps is difficult. So where can I buy RWS caps at a reasonable price?I was using BILL KNIGHT nipples,H777.Thanks in advance.........Montanadan.

Try Cabela's...You end up with 10 tins. The last time I bought a single tin from a gun shop, the price was $6....As pricey as Cabelas is,they are still cheaper (at least for me)...

CCI caps are my LAST choice

Montanadan,
                  I have bought my last CCI cap. They are plenty hot enough for real black powder but they have proven to be less than sure-fire for Pyrodex and 777 in all my Old Army revolvers. The only time I use them now is when I run out of Remington caps at the range. With the Remington caps and 777, ignition is almost always instantanious and I can't even remember having a Remington cap pop and the gun fail to fire. A couple of weeks ago I was at the range and ran out of Remington caps. I had to start using CCI caps and noticed a lag in the firing of the gun. Not quite a hangfire but still noticable. Also I had a couple of instances of the CCI caps popping and the 777 failing to ignite. I had a tin of CCI "Magnum" caps to try as well. I think they are hotter than the regular CCI caps but often took two (and some even three) strikes of the hammer to pop. :eek:
 I have had similar results with CCI caps and Pyrodex. It isn't anything new that I know of. I plan on ordering 3K of Remington Number 10 caps from Cabela's. I don't want to run out again any time soon. :)

I haven't had a problem with them. I shoot Goex and T7 in differant guns. The ones I have are just the plain CCI not the mags.

Thanks for the info.,Five shooter I have been using Remmie caps(the new ones) for about 1 1/2 yrs. now. #10 on the CB pistols, they do not seem to leave as much fouling on the nipples, and no cap jams! Iam currently using #11 Remmies and APP(3fg) in the long guns with pretty good results. Yooper RWS 1075 plus is the only way to go on the long guns if it burns they will light it . Yooper try MID-SOUTH ,1075 plus for 22.00 per 1000. Five shooter have you tried APP(3fg) in your CB pistols? Power like PYRODEX, without the mess, also non corrisive,much cheaper than T-7. Have shot up to 8 stages in CAS with CB no problems, well thanks again to all that responded. Respectfully Montanadan.

FIVE SHOOTER-APP POWDER

Five shooter I have been using this powder for 3yrs now. I really like it. You will want to use 3fg in the CB`s,NO LUBE! APP makes it own lube. When loading the CB pay attention to compression(very little) same with cartridge loading. Stay under.060, if you over compress APP will get very erratic in a hurry. Make sure cylinders,barrel,and nipples are clean and oil free. Same for loading and shooting in cartridge guns. Give it a try ..good shootin...Respectfully Montanadan

The Remington caps, at one time the least reliable you could find, are now the MOST reliable you can find.  Since the packaging changed, they are hotter, and go off every time.  They are a hair larger than CCI, and a perfect fit on TRESO nipples.

Montanadan,Thanks for the heads up. I've never had a problem with RWS caps...They always got the job done when called upon. Guess I'll have to order myself a catalog and see what else they have.
