synthetic stock for Marlin model 60?

I love my new Marlin model 60 but would like to find a replacement synthetic Monte Carlo style stock (not a draganov stock) for it.  The original stock looks pretty but I have misgivings about it standing up to the environment.  I recently installed sling swivels on the original stock and as I pre-drilled the holes, it looked like the stock is basically comprised of pressed sawdust encased in a paper like veneer finish.  In short if it got wet I'm not sure it wouldn't dissolve.  The stock is definitely not real wood per se.  I like the style & looks of the stock but it sure seems to be fragile.  Too fragile to use in a hunting in the woods scenario.  Please help me find a replacement synthetic Monte Carlo style stock for this rifle.  TIA!

You can but a replacement synthetic stock for this for around $40.00.Brownell's has it listed for the model 60SSK.Part # 550-000-352.I don't know how rough tou handle your guns,but these stocks hold up better than you think.I trap with mine and have dropped into a swamp and it's still whole,just a little dirty.

Thanks for your reply.  I will check with Brownells.  $40 sounds like a good price too.  I like the stock on the rifle but was looking for a synthetic for when I go hunting.  Sounds like the original stock may be more durable than I thought though.
