For you Turkey hunters....how does your 12 Ga. barrel pattern?? What is your max. clean kill distance? What choke and what type of Ammo are you shooting?? I know different guns like different ammo....but just looking for an overall honest opinion.

i shoot 3.5" hevishot 5s with a superfull choke that came with my remmington 870 turkey gun... i think patterning is a bunch of hype personally... i've never been particularly blown away by any pattern of any gun, with any load... maybe if you're a scope user or something... i consider max range to be 45 yards for a "clean" kill but i've heard reliable stories of killing turkeys out 55 yards with the hevishot...

I took mine to Rhino in Williston, Florida and they lengthened the forcing cone and put one of their .660 chokes in it and it is a smoker!  I misjudged the distance on one Tom in SC last year and smoked him at 53 yards.............dead as a wedge.  I killed 9 gobblers last year with mine and distances from 12 yards to the above mentioned 53 yards, all were way dead.  I shoot 3" Win HV #6's out of mine.  Kicks like a mule but is a dream to carry all day long.
