What scopes do y'all have on your big bores??
« on: October 07, 2004, 10:11:28 AM »
I have a Zeiss Conquest on my Sako 75 .375 H&H----but here's my situation.

I originally got the scope for my Sako 75 .338----then I got the .375 and put the scope on it because it has better eye relief than the other Zeiss scopes I have laying around-------problem is they are compact Diavari-C's and they won't fit well on the magnum action----since the .338 will see more use----the Conquest is going back on it. That leaves me needing a scope for the .375.

What I have been considering so far:
Aimpoint 7000L
Leupold VX-III 1.75x6x20
Leupold VX-II 1x4x20
Burris Signature 1.75x6x32
Another Ziess Conquest 3x9x40

What are you guys using and which of these would you choose???

I have a 1.5-5x20 leupold VXIII on a 45/70 barrel for my encore.  It is a really nice scope.  Good eye relief, very clear, and seems to handle recoil as well as any other scope out there.  I'd recommend it.

I have a Leupold VXIII 2.5-8X36 on my 375 H&H.  It has good eye relief and handles the recoil.

Omaha-BeenGlockin,

I have five Burris 1.75X-5X-32mm Safari scopes on my big bores from .375 H&H to .416 Rigby and have another ordered for my .450 Rigby.  Once the Posi-Lok is set you don't have to worry about POI shifting.  Lawdog

I've been using the Bushnell Banner Dawn to Dusk 1.5-4.5x32 scope on my 444s.  The clarity is excellent, they are rugged and after about 200 rounds through one of those levers the scope is still right on.  And, they average around $80.  HTH.  Mikey.
