First off let me welcome you  to the forum, I see this is your first post.  I also assume this is an NEF or H&R 223.

You'll get tons of it but we need more details.

What Ammo your using? Factory/reloads?

Bullet type and weight?

What Scope/iron sights?

Everything securely mounted?

Has barrel been floated?

Where do you rest the forend?

Is this from a rest, freehand, etc?

How is trigger pull?

How big are groups at 50yds?

Was rifle new/used?

Has rifle been cleaned?

This is for starters.  Answer these and we can help pin it down.  This will eliminate a lot of common issues.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

LarryR, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if that is a H&R/NEF Handi Rifle in .223 (as long as it's not the superlight) and after you hang around here a bit and learn to tweak these little guns you will still have a problem sighting in your .223 at 50 yards.

I can see it now, set your target up at 50 yards, carefully and slowly shoot 3 to 5 shots of cheap Winchester 45 grain HP Value pack ammo at the target set up at 50 yards, check the target and only see one hole on the paper. But there is the good news to go along with that one hole, all the bullets would have gone through that single, one hole!!!

Stay around a bit and I predict that gun will be shooting great. If not and there is an inherent problem with that particular gun another good point is H&R will most likely fix it or replace it for free!!

:D , Oh and by the way, Welcome aboard!!!....<><....

LarryR, next time you buy the Winchester value pack try the 45 grain HP's. Your gun may like them better than the 55 grain solids, many here do. Congratulations, it seems like yours is really beginning to shoot after only 200 rounds. There are a lot of tricks around here to help tighten up that group but it seems like your doing fine already....<><....

I am from Kay county right next to you, raised in Braman.  I now live in north central Texas.
