Anyone use it. I can get some pretty good deals on it locally. I would need to replace H4895, H110, H4227, H4198. In 30 Herrett, 6TCU, 41 Mag, 358 GNR, 256 Super Mag, etc.
Thanks for opinions, experiences, and comments.

any time you can get a deal,it means you can shoot more for less! Besides ,it will mean you have to buy a gun you can use the stuff in!

My only experience with it was using 1680 in a 7.6x39. It worked much better than the H4198 I had been using. I would try and wanted to try other Accurate powder but since moving Hodgdon and Alliant are easier for me to find.

Have used AA#5, AA#7, AA#9, in many of my handguns and have had great sucess with their powders. Also used AA#2015XMR in my 7mm-08 and a Speer 110gr. TNT/HP, used that load in my rifle for over 10yrs. now.
Just recently I have worked up two loads using AA#5 one for my 41mag the other for my 45ACP. I really like their powders and they meter so good through the powder measure. I wish I could get some at a reduced price. Just bought 2lbs. yesterday and paid $18.50/ lb. for AA#5.
Iwould go for it. :grin:

I bought a can of AA3100 and it worked fine in the 30-06 but I didn't like it as much as IMR and H 4831 in my 300 win mag. BUT by saving $8 per pound from the latter brands I liked it great for target practice. My supplier is out but I may try the some of the other stuff - 2700??. I've seen on this forum where some of the pistol powders really shine in the 41 mag - I gotta try some.

I use aa2 and aa9 but found that you can buy surplus powder alot cheaper and wc820 or H108 is the same as aa9 and aa2 is still available as surplus too. Accuate arms does not make powder. They just buy the surplus powder and repackage it.

What?! Accurate arms does in fact make their own powder. Who ever told you they weren't was feeding you a long line of poop.

Actually they do both! They (Accurate Arms) are the ones who tell you which are the repackaged military powders they merchandise. It's sometimes on the label on some and others in the product description.

I use AA3100 in my 7 mag and AA2520 in several 7-08's. Far and away the best powder in the 7 mag, both accuracy wise and good velocity as well.

AA# 9 in my .44 Magnum,.... AA#8700 in my 7mm Magnum

Oh and by the way all of you AA#3100 users,... they have a RECALL on it!!

Unfortunately 1680 is not one of the ones I can get a deal on. I've been wanting to try it though.

Pretty much. WCC 680 might have a little more lot to lot variation, but they are interchangable with the usual precautions. You might also keep your eyes out for WW 680. It's more of the same, but was discontinued a few years back. Likely to be a little still out there.

I purchased an 8# jug of AA2200 a few years back and love it for the 30-30, 30 Herrett and the 7.62x39. I can cross reference it by using AA1680 load data but I cut it back by 20% for starters. As I recall, it came from the Soviet Bloc countries when they liquidated most of their armourments. I was furnished much load data for different calibers from Accurate Arms back when they sold it. Acurate powders are indeed both surplused and manufactured.

AA 2230C is cheap and gives me better results than H-380 and IMR 4064 in my 22-250. Paid $60 for 8 pounds.

2200 works pretty good in the 223 too!

A while back I asked the tech at Accurate about unpublished load data for 2230C and they suggested that you can use the data for their AA2460 with that powder for all loadings and achieve the published results.

I am using both the 2200 Data Powder and their AA2230C and really like the results I am getting. Load the AA2230C in my 15" 22-250 Encore barrel with that 2460 data.

Load reference for 2230C on their web site used to say use 2230 for starters but I haven't been there for quite a while. I've been using using 33.5 grains with the 52 grain MK in a 22-250 Model 700 heavy barrel single shot for several years. Every time I try something else, I end up going back to 2230C.

Jeff,

Send them an e-mail, use that form they have to request specific load data, or give them a call about using 2460 data. They told me that 2230C is closer to 2460 than it it is to 2230. However if you have a load worked up that works, no reason to mess with it.

I've used tons of their 2520 and 4064 in Service Rifle for the same reason - I got it cheap!

It works fine, just work up loads like any other new powder.

hi guys. a few years back i got 10 pounds of accurate mrp powder for 10 dollars a pound. it was a surplus powder that they sold up for awhile but said it was identical to thier 3100. it was the best 10 dollars a pound i ever spent. got great results in a 7mm remington mag, a 300 h&h mag, and a 338 mag. accurate techs are great to work with and i say they are as good of company as hodgden or imr. accurate 7 worked really well in a 10mm pistol i had too. i swear by them.

I bought an 8 lb container of XMR4350 for use in my 25/06 and 300 Win. Their A1680 is the second best powder for my 357 Max. I've used A3100 with good results too. Overall I'm very pleased with the performance and price of all the AA powders I've used.

You will find loading data using AA powders on my reloading data pages. That is all but the 358 GNR and 256 Super Mag.

AA powders are good, but for the calibers you mentioned, the only one I found it best for was the .41 mag with AA-7 and 210 grain bullets.

I have a one-pound canister of AA #7 which I bought a couple of years ago. On the label it reads "Made in RSA". I assume that to be Republic of South Africa.

I also have an eight pound canister of AA #7, bought recently, that has "Made in Israel" on the label.
