glock 20 recoil
« on: October 10, 2004, 06:34:48 PM »
Well,i just installed a set of green fiber optic sights on my new model 20 and decided to finally shoot it.Maybe the factory loads i was using were tame but i didnt think the 10mm kicked much at all.I intend to take a whitetail at close range with this in a month if given a chance. My girlfriend even shot it and loved it.It was her 1st time shooting and she wants to do it again ! Next i'll be looking for some hot factory rounds,i heard the winchesters were pretty hot .

The 10mm is one of my duty guns. The hottest factory I can find is the "Silvertips". I hear the "Double Tap" ammo is quite a bit hotter than that. I handload for the 10mm so I can load up or down as I need to. I'm required to carry factory ammo on duty is the reason I carry the "Silvertips" I bet the "Double Tap" stuff would be great for hunting!

The 10mm case is the weak link.
If you can get a 40sw barrel for a G20 and seat 200 gr. bullets out to 1.3", then you can have the best of both worlds; strong 40sw brass, and long 10mm OALs.
