I know this is not exactly the place to discuss the Weatherby Vanguard 270, but I have a chance to buy a brand new one for $250.  Now I don't really need one but heck, that seems to be a very good price.  Should I go for it or not?

i would jump all over it! mine is a .243 but i am VERY impressed with it and i paid $389. so $250 is a steal and even if you dont like it you can always sell it for $300 in an instant to anyone on this forum.
I have it on good authority that the telepromter is writing a stern letter.

I have 2 of the Wby. Vangaurds and both shoot extremly well. The 30 06 shoots .310" at 100 anytime, and the 300 Wby. comes in at .700" with limited load research. These 2 are my serious hunting guns with the 280 H@R coming in as a truck gun.  Digger

Well I did it.  Could not pass up another good deal.  The target that came with the rifle shows just about 1" for 3 shots at 100 yds.  Don't know what I will do with it. :-D  :-D  :-D   Maybe just hang on to it and give it to one of my grandsons................................ someday.  I have found so many good deals lately and saved so much money I am just about broke. :-D  :-D  :-D  :D
