Have the rest of you Texas hunters been seeing much more than mosquitos???  Had a young 7-point at 10 yards opening weekend, yesterday nothing more than a mob of mosquitos.  I'm headed down to Crystal City this weekend, hopefully it'll be much better.  Good luck!!!

I've not been able to go bowhunting this year, but I do have my CuddyBack Digital camera set up.  Since 9/1/04, I've taken almost 900 pictures, identified about 16 different bucks visiting my area, and a bunch of hogs and does.  Opening morn got a good pic of a 9-pt, just hanging out......

bob :)

Well, good luck when you do get a chance to go!!!  With any amount of luck, I'll be leaving in a couple of hours for a trip down South.  I'll be hunting on a buddies place between LaPryor and Crystal City.  The moon is finally dark and there are only acorns along the river, maybe we'll get to see a few deer on this trip.  I'm borrowing a digital camera, with a little luck, maybe I'll have to figure out how to post a picture???

In Gonzales County I have experienced poor bowhunting conditions, mainly due to warm weather and the bumper weed crop. Deer don't have to move much, and aren't moving much, at least not yet. Two days of hunting and zero deer sighted. Doesn't look like much other than a freeze or the rut is going to change these conditions.
There is no more humbling experience for man than to be fully immersed in nature's artistry.

I did manage to shoot 2 hogs and a doe this weekend.  Like everywhere else, not much is moving.  Until all the acorns are gone and we have a good frost, they will not have to get out and hustle.  Just have to change tactics a little and hunt the native food sources.  Good Luck!!!
