Just spend sometime working on a 9.9 hp kicker. Before doing anything I grabbed the digital camera and shot pictures of the motor for reference purposes. I referred to the photos a couple of times.

I am in the process of tearing apart my 17 footer to repower it. Again I shot a bunch of pictures so that I have a good reference where everything goes back. The prints will go with my manual now.

I suspect that photos would be of value when taking guns, reels, and other door equipment apart. How about that old tent.

Yep.
I have an old Colt revolver. Sent an email to Wolff Springs to see if they made a lighter mainspring.
Wolff said it depended on the spring's configuration. Apparently, Colt changed the spring's configuration slightly through the years.
Was about to describe it in print, when I realized "Why not take a photo?"
So, popped the sideplate off and took a photo of the mainspring.
Wolff sent me a reply in minutes: Nope. Don't make it.
But that quick, digital photo saved me a ton of writing and inquiries.
Love the immediacey of digital photos.

I did the same thing when I wanted to replace the seat on this recumbent bike I have. The model I have was one of the original ones and the people I was buying the replacement from didn't know if I'd work or not. I took a picture of the underside of it with my 3.3 Megapixel camera and emailed it to the store. The girl at the store wrote me back saying sorry, it wouldn't work but told me how cool the picture was. Saved a lot of time and money that way.

One computer I had for several years had to be taken to the shop. Before unplugging everything I took a few photos of the back side and printed them out. Didn't have any trouble at all getting everything back in the right place.

Ironwood:

I recently had to replace the power supply in an older pc I keep to let the grandkids play on. I was a little concerned about all the plugs. The replacement program worked great. One of the local computer shops wanted the price of a power supply and $58.00 for installation. Fifty-eight dollars will buy a few fishhooks.

Inaddition I had a Sears shock break on my pickup. Lifetime Warranty by Sears?

Anyway I took and bunch of digital pictures before removing and of the broken parts afterwards. I still need to deal with Sears but I did not want to cancel a fishing trip.
