hylander:  Adams and Bennet make a lot of commercial quality barrels.  E.R. Shaw makes a much better quality custom barrel.  I would go with the Shaw, or even another custom barrel.  HTH.  Mikey.

Based on recommendations from buddies, I sent my Rem 700 to Shaw to be rebarreled. One has an M70 in .35 Whelan and the other a 700 in .257 Roberts with Shaw barrels. They are great. I sent a 700 in .222 that I got from a pawn shop with a rested barrel to Shaw for a new barrel. It shoots like a dream.

Put a A&B 257 Rob. barrel on my mauser, tack driver.
It is rough though, fouls quick after 20 rounds and accuracy really goes to pot. Scub it clean and I'm back in business.
Shaw does have a great reputation for quality.

I have used both,, bought the A&B on sale for around $60,  have had tackdrivers , (not every one)..  now they're about $100, and for the extra $45, get the Shaw..  I rebarreled an A3 Remington in 338-06, and it is sweet,   a 98 German triple swastika proofed mauser in 300wsm, and it has killed two nice bulls this fall, here in Wyoming... I guided a young fellow from Texas to a 6X6, which he took with the 300wsm at 365 yds, and a week later, I killed a larger 5X5 with the same rifle at 382 yds, in his bed.  ERShaw rules....Les
