new to yotes, skinning question

:D first post in varmit forum!  I'd like someone to explain the best way to skin a yote, and how to preserve the hide. I'm a taxidermist, but i don't know how the fur buyers want em.  Anyting aside from quickly skinning, and fleashing, and then  immediatly salting a hide is strange to me. letting a hide dry out without salting it first is a huge no no in my proffession.  also what kind of prices can I expect in northern WI. and are there any reccomended fur buyers up here? All advice is greatly appreciated!  God bless!

The captions were really small, but I figured it out.  Is that the way all fur buyer like em? Cut off that far above the paw? I would have figured they would want the paws on. back to that other question, how should I preserve them? I don't know any other way other than salting?

Sir Gallahad,
I'll give this a try, Its easy to do the work, Its hard for me to explain how to do it. If you read the post it told you how to case a hide. Next you flesh the hide good then you put it on a stretcher, skin side out tack it to your stretcher and let it dry for a while, As soon as it looses the tacky feel you turn it over and let it dry on the board. This is the process that the fur buyers wants.
Some buyers will buy them green but will dock you. Hope i was of some help. hope this helps.............Joe...........

just roll those yotes up fur side out after skinning and put them in a garbage sack and throw them in the freezer. oh might warn yur wife about it tho. also, always skin a yote while its still warm, always is a lot easier then. if yu want to stretch them them boys over on the trapping forum would be a wealth of knowledge.

Roll so that the fur is in contact with the flesh (like when you roll up a sleeping bag) or flesh sides together with the fur side out?  How long does it take to cure them in this fashion and do you need to do anything to them after you take them from the freezer?

Sorry so many questions but I would love to try this!

:D Well oso nailed it on the nose .  There is no preserving your pulls,hides
the fur buyers buy dry fur not preserved . I like to wash my hides with oxy
clean mixed with downy fabric softener, after clean , find your holes and sew , put on your stretchers fur side in let dry for a day ,flesh and if the skin isn't tacky then flip fur side out . brush with a cury comb let stand untell dry . The only time you try to leave the paws are on a cat you might sell to the taxedermist. but selling to the fur buyers is different,
most of the time all that is used on a yote is a tiny strip on the back and the belly.
The more effort you put in the more money you make.
