I've used Swift bullets for many years. For the .270 I've only used 140 grn Swift A-frame slugs. The A-frame positively limits the amount of expansion to the partition, resulting in amazing penetration. The .270 works well even on moose and elk with these bullets. The Scirocco will allow much more expansion, clear down to the base of the bullet with a high velocity round like the .270 at close range. That much expansion can result in poor penetration even though the bullet stays in one piece. The exception would be long range shots where the velocity has bled off. The .270 is an outstanding long range caliber and the Scirocco would be the perfect choice for those long range shots. I use Swift bullets in all my hunting guns including 270, 7mm Dakota, 30-30 (contender), 30-06, 330 Dakota, and 35 Whelen. They cost more, but they're worth it.
