1933 NRA Savage Can't seem to go to gun show and come home empty handed. You kind forum folks got me up to speed on 75T and Sporter... Anyone have some words to share about the NRA 1933. From what I've found so far is it has the original sights (front/rear) . Have not found to much historical info.. They made about 50,000,  Model 19 NRA full lenght stocks; but mine has more of a carbine stock with barrel band. The serial number is 45XXX . It has a scope sight base, but only one, about 4 1/2 inches from the bolt face; no other holes. The barrel is 25 inches long, measuring from the same bolt face place. The stock style is very much like the first Winchester 52's. Or, the Springfield 1922 Gallery Practice Rifle (U.S. Martial .22RF Rifles / Thomas Batha) ... That is what caught my eye. ... I'm cleaning it up and it will be off to the range; rain or shine.

I have one of these, and it is a tackdriver.  You have to watch the knobs on the receiver peep sight, as they are kinda delicate (mine were broken off, have to adjust with pliers).  Mine doesn't have scope base, so that was likely added by someone later.  Don't know of a carbine version, mine has a full military stock with barrel band.  Supposedly, these were designed to closely resemble the 03 Springfield.  Oh yeah--don't lose the magazine, they're tough to find.  There are replica's available, but not all of them would feed properly in mine--4th one I tried worked okay, luckily I had the original as well.
