Break action muzzleloaders

I'm very close to buying either an H&R huntsman or A rossi 50 cal. rifle. I've gone over the spec sheets on both each has postives and negatives. I thought maybe some of you fellows might venture an opinion. Would appreciate any input you might have. Thanks

I believe the H&R takes some kind of insert like the Knight Disc. You might want to consider that as it is another thing you have to buy to make the rifle work. Seems like a pain to me. Just my opinion; I know a lot of people that think the disc thing is OK. I have a Traditions Pursuit but I can't recommend that at this time as the trigger quality that is being shipped presently is very poor. Other than that the rifle is OK.

did you look at the T/C encore?

you buy the frame then you can switch barrels from a muzzle then to a rifle barrel then you can get a 12 ga shot gun barrel

Thanks for the input Guys. It will probably be the Rossi. Would love to have the encore however it's just not in the budget now.

My wife had a Rossi!  We sold it and bought a TC Encore!

The biggest reason she didn't like the Rossi is because of the collapsible ram rod and the time it would take just to set this up when/if a second shot was needed!  Also, lots of gas comes out of the action and leaves it's mark on the bottom of the scope!

The Buckwacca, which looks very much like the rossi doesn't have the collapsible ramrod.

Hope you find something you'll really like!

Sorry about the H&R comment relative to the disk insert. I just saw an ad for the NEF which uses the disk. I'm not sure about the H&R now. H&R is at least an american based company. Personally I haven't had any problems with Spanish based rifles so far. Rossi I think is Brazil which should be as good as the Spanish stuff.
