NEF 38-55 in a local pawnshop.

I thought it was a NEF shotgun on the rack, but the price tag said $450 so I asked the guy to let me see it.

Turned out to be what I am guessing is a Buffalo Classic...? Am I right?

No sights, but drilled and tapped for a scope.

Is this a good price for one?

Cheers

WAY high!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nearly double what I would pay used without the sights. A hundred bucks or more higher than you should be able to get a new one for WITH sights.

Thanks for the info guys. I thought it might be high, this shop has a tendency to over price anyway.

Yea that is way too high alright. It's not the Buffalo Classic either but it sounds like they might think it is. The Buf Calssic would probably run about that much.......naw even that would be too high for a BC. The last Target Model 38-55 I looked at was $316 NIB.

You can get a new one at Wal-mart for well under $300. I like buying from my local dealer. He may charge $20 more, but it is worth it. That one dealer must operate in a high-rent district.

Walmart can advertise them so cheap because they don't have any to sell. You gotta keep an eye on Sports South and order when Sports South has some in stock. That's likely to be a long wait.
