Help: correct ring height
« on: October 17, 2004, 08:44:02 PM »
I would appreciate help making the right choice the first time. I want to mount the Bushnell Elite 3200 3x9x40 on a T/C Omega. It should be as low as possible without removing the rear sight.

My choice so far are Warne Maxima QR bases and rings. But this isn't set in stone. Never used  the Warnes before.

Don't think the low rings will work. Will the medium rings get the job done, or do I need the high ones?

Thanks much.

I have the Warne mounts and medium rings on my Encore M/L with a Leupold 2X7X33 scope and there is a lot of room between the scope and sight. I have the same set up on my sons .45 Encore M/L, Warne mounts and medium rings, but me has a Bushnell Dusk to Dawn 3X9X40 and it clears the sights. I use the Warne mounts and rings on all my Encore barrels, I think they are extremely well made and I have not had one problem with them. I have them on my 300Win Mag barrel and my 30-06, 22-250 and 7mmBR barrels.  :D

LittleWill,

I have Bushnell elites on two of my rifles, with medium rings.  I am pretty sure that the objective lens would not clear the barrel with low rings.

Warne bases and rings are a good outfit.
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

Thanks guys,

The Omega is my first muzzle loader. The scope I have on it now ( that will remain nameless ) doesn't do it justice.

The Bushnell with the Warne rings and mounts will set it off just right.

Anyone used the Leupold dual dovetail mount and Burris Signature rings on an Omega?? Looking at either a 36mm or 40mm objective.
 Thanks,
