Hmm...never heard of a stainless ADL either. But I'd say depending on your own judgement and price...it's an excellent choice. See if you can test fire a few rounds through it (since it's obviously used) and see how accurate it is. If you don't like it...don't buy it. It's not the only rifle on the rack (or the only fish in the sea  ). Good luck with your decision.  :D

Killer,
In answer to your question about the rem 700 in SS, The answer is yes they did make the 700 ADL with SS barrels from 1962 till 1970 and the price you said they was asking is good, In fact if you are looking for a 7MM mag thats a heck of a deal. I bought one in 1963 just like the one you are talking about and killed 10 big bull elk in the northern Mt.s of New Mexico. The only reason i got rid of it is i went broke and needed some quick money. It was the best of many guns that i have had. I would buy it in a heart beat. Best of luck to ya..........Joe..............

Killer,
Find someone that has a Fjestad book of values and look up Remington
Rifles. You said it had a Synthetic stock which leads me to belive it might be one of the ADL 700 Synthetics which came out in 1996. I missed the stock type untill i went back and reread your post, (Sorry about that) I should have been more careful. But it looks like you found a good one.
Good luck........Joe.......

Remington made a limited number of more or less Mountain Rifle configuration SS guns with the blind magazine or ADL configuration. I am of the opinion this option was limited to a two year run and do not think it was actually ever cataloged. I've owned two of them.

The first was a .300 Win. Mag. Oh that hurt. Traded it off for a near duplicate but in .270 Win. That's the rifle my oldest son has used to kill ever white tail deer he has taken. I finally just gave it to him as a Christmas present one year.

I'm not sure I can recall the exact dates of manufacture and it might have varied by caliber. But I think it was a limited two year run in the Mtn. Rifle configuration. I suspect this is the gun you have.

Just guessing I think I bought mine back in the early to mid 80s but that's a guess. Both were new in box when I bought them. I think the run was late 70s or early 80s time frame. Stock is far different from the plastic ones in use on the ADLs of today.

I had one too(.300 Win)---it was in the early '90's------------it was Remington's first responce to the Browning Stainless Stalker. A one or two year run sounds about right-----but it was cataloged. All the gun rags did big write ups at the time---as it was billed as Remington's first stainless rifle.

IIRC the were selling new for $500 back then----so $300 would be a good deal----the scope is worthless----so don't worry about any value from it.

Like GB has stated it may not be cataloged, we have a customer who pawns his in 25-06 every few months and I keep trying to get him to sell it and he just says its not for sale but I can have it if he is ever late paying on it, and he is right I will own it. :D    JIM

I think that the price is very good.  It's even better if that's the caliber that you want.  The scope is what it is and not much more than that.  Keep it if it suites you, or sell it on ebay and buy a better scope.

Heck, the action is worth $300 the rest is a bonus or a gift.

Your money.. and you are the only one that needs to be pleased with the deal.
