load suggestions for .40 cal flintlock?

I'm using about 42 grs. now but was wondering what my min / max  powder range should be.  Thanks for any help.

:D robin, the short answer is....it depends on the powder. And the long answer is, max load depends on barrel thickness. Acuraccy is a different story. One very old rule of thumb was 1/2 weight of the ball was a good starting load. Another old rule was, Min. load would be = to bore size (40 grains in 40 caliber), max = double the bore size, but you might not be able to hit anything. As an example, I shoot 60 grains fffg in my .45, but I have used 90 for a hunting load. Groups size is about double though.
