I will put a scope on it to hunt, but I just like having a rifle with iron sights in case my scope goes to hell.

Has anyone ever ordered a 30-06 Handi with iron sights?

What are your thoughts on it? Worth it?

I don't think they're available from the factory. The Rossi's (sorry for bring them up guys

) come with iron sights on them. You could also have a gunsmith install iron sights onto the barrel. The first way would definately be cheaper.

Call H&R cutomer service because I think they will install iron sights on barrels. You just have to send it back to them.

They told me they would for an extra $47.

Does that seem kind of steep?

I wonder if Remington ADL sights would work for you. I removed two sets of sights off of my .223 and my .22-250 and aint got a use for em.

if your talking about the remington model 700 sights they might. I had a set installed on my rossi 44 mag. custom carbine. if he isnt interested in those sights drop me a line because i would be interested in them

There you go! A set of Remington take-offs would be easy enough to install and give you better sights.
