marlin 512 scope mount

Just ordered the weaver scope mount through marlin. It's what they recommend with there side mount base. Anybody use one of these mounts. Are they strong. Thanks

I one had the two big knob screws strip out that hold the rings to the base because I over tightened.  I'd suggest using Loc-Tite the first time.  Probably user error in my case.  I "fixed" the stituation by drillng and tapping two additional holes in the base for security.

Yes there strong. Never had any problems with mine.  Do recommend "loc tite" on all the screws.  They will loosen under recoil if you don't.
