I went through quite a few 200gr Shockwaves last month getting my Omega zeroed and my Leatherwood scope calibrated to the load trajectory to 300 yards. Now I go to replace them and find that they are in very short supply! Word on this bullet is getting out way too fast...I found one dealer online that claims they are in stock so I stocked up.
Next time I find something good maybe I'll just keep it to myself!

Might I offer you a tip? I'm pretty sure that bullet is really made by Hornady and sold by them also under the Hornady label. Look at and compare them and see if you don't agree. The Hornady should be in good supply.

Thanks Graybeard. I know it's the same as the SST...the 250gr is sold under both labels with a different colored polymer tip. However I've never seen the 200gr under the SST label. I was shopping most recently at the huge Cabela's in Dundee, MI and they are out of stock more often than not since mid-summer and never carry an SST version.
Has anyone ever seen Hornaday selling this bullet direct?

I've never seen them under the Hornady label. They Hornady has the 200 grain bullet on their web site, but only with a .45 cal sabot. I suppose you could buy the .50/.40 blue MMP sabots, match them up with the 200 grain Hornady's and throw the .45 cal sabots away--which I might try if the supply dries up any further.

i think it might be a bit light on the 200 grain side as a 300yd killer! and man is it going to get pushed around on windy days! but hey good luck and good hunting
