I have some swede FMJ ammo i forgot about in a ammo can.  Its marked on the boxes:  "6,5mm sk ptr m/94 prj m/41 prickskytte"  Has anyone ever shot this stuff?                                          BigBill

Excellent ammunition and getting very hard to find.

Translation:
prickskytte         sharp round (match grade, for sniping)

Enjoy your Swede!

Yep.
Thats the original sniper stuff, and I agree it shoots quite well.
I purchased a couple of Battle Packs (200 rounds per pack) from Sportsman's Guide last winter. I've shot maybe 100 rounds. Then I noticed Sportsman's Guide was out of the stuff. When I find it now it's $8-$9 a box! I haven't even opened the second sealed Battle Pack. I'm going to save it because I'm a pack-rat.
Are yours the nickel-clad rounds? Mne are.
Apparently copper-clad rounds are also available but I've yet to see them anywhere.
The only negative (other than price and availability) about these rounds is they have berdan primers and can't be reloaded.

They do make berdan decappers and we can get berdan primers.  Its time consuming to do?  But if the FNM target cases last more than ten reloadings that sounds the way to go.  Coles Distributing has the FNM ammo still affordable.  I may grab more of this swede ammo if i can find it.                                                                     BigBill

BigBill.

I finally had to toss some FNM cases after 20 reloadings!
I was just necking them for particular rifles, but I never saw any indications of splitting or other undesirable behavior.
I trashed them because the primer pockets were becoming slightly loose.
I probably could have shot them more but I didn't want dislodged/spent primers running about my magazine.
Anything that can take 10 reloads is great-20 reloade is even better.

Its taken me forever to build hand loads that shoot even close to as good as those suprlus rounds in my Mil Surp sporterized rifle.

There's a lot of very interesting information about this military ammo and about loading for the 6.5 Swede in general at benchrest.com, "factory and hybrid rifle" forum, thread titled something like "Loads for 6.5x55 swede reloading." Sorry I don't know how to provide a link.

Be very careful using some of the reloading stats there because they memtion the newer remington and winchester recievers so their actually shooting higher loads than we can use in the older swede M96's and 38's. I'm very careful in using the reloading books too.         BigBill
