Winchester 1895 - Need help!!!
« on: October 22, 2004, 05:43:22 PM »
I just got a 1895 .30 US manufactured in 1913.  I have wanted one all my life, and finally got one. Problem is, it has a broken hammer spring(it is of the leaf spring type).  Can anybody tell me who tinkers with old Winchesters, so I can get this problem fixed?  Is the newly manufactured Jap 1895s the exact copy of the original?  Does anybody out there know who keeps old Winchester parts in stock?  I want to get this baby up and running.

Deano-

Make sure that you post this question over on the gunsmithing forum, too, if you haven't already.  I checked a few online parts places, but I couldn't find anything for you.  Good luck with that gun, I hope you get it booming again soon.

Try Buckinghams for original parts.Phone is 731-559-4169. Or you can Gun parts, they don't have much in parts. Or a GOOD gunsmith can make a spring for you. The new 1895's are different from the originals and not better by any means.
