Mornin everyone. I gotta have a BP shotgun for spring turkey this coming season. I'd prefer a 12 gauge full choke, single is ok, but would prefer a double in percussion. Haven't ventured in to BP shotgunning yet, but I'm sure its a blast! Any of you have any recds. on where I might be able to pick up something nice?

Yes, Traditions has a nice variety of muzzle loading b/p shotguns.

I'd look for a TC New Englander or a TC Black Mountain Magnum 12 gauge. They have interchangable chokes, which is a nice feature.

Thanks for the info. The TC is very nice, but I'm after something halfway traditional. After looking around the web a bit, the Pedersoli S241 is to my liking, except price. Double barrell full choke both sides @$650.

XCheck to see if they have a kit. Easy to finish and works just as well. My 10 guage Pedersoli was a kit and it turned out well. Check out the Pedersoli site on the net. They list all their dealers on their web site.

Also check GUN BROKER and AUCTION ARMS and GUNS AMERICA in the net. Someone will have just what you want. And I do warn you - you won't want to shoot a cartridge shotgun after you start.\

i have a 10 gauge pedersoli and have taken twoo geese and many ducks withit. its really a great gun, but needs tender lovingcare.. at 500 dolars or so it needs help.. id get a 12 gauge navy arms t and t is what you want.. (turkey and trap).. both barrels are full chock and i believe its a older better quality gun than the modern pedersoli.. my screw in chokes were not drilled right and it did not shoot on.. with great pains and many trips to the gunsmith i did manage to take two state championships with it.. so they can be made to work.. when i recived it, the left hammer wouldn even cock after one days use... cabellas sells them (12 and 10 )with money back guarentee.. a single shot when hunting is a huge penalty.. i hunt duck with a 16 gauge fullstock flintlock cylinder bore and know the problems it causes knocking abird down only to have it swim out of range.. so i like to hunt creeks.. works for me.. .. dave.

the t and t hasnte been made for some time.. finding onewill be a treat.. look at gun shows, dealers , pawn shops and you may find one before your too old to hunt.. not a funny joke i know.. but its a pretty decent gun.. fulll chokes take some care to load so contact me if you get one.. if you cant wait in a side by side pedersoli is one of the very few games in town.. id go thru cabellas as you can return it if its really buggerd up.. dave..

My Pedersoli 12 guage full choke TnT is on the way.

This is not the screw in choke version. Thunder Ridge is about the only place I could find one. Anyway, due to the cost I'll have to wait a couple more weeks before I can afford to shoot it. I'll let you know how it goes. Seems like I never have much luck with my imports. Hammers never strike the nipple squarely. Had that problem with a Traditions long rifle about 25 years ago, and with my Lyman last year. I'll consider myself lucky if both of these hammers are aligned properly. Should be fun working up a good turkey load. Thanks for all your help. :wink: Skipper.
