Went to range today and shot some more 300gr Speer SP's. Also just put on the rifle some Warne Scope Rings, man I like these Warne products. If you don't like them you can send back for a full refund or a least that is what they say. But once you use them, you 'll see how good they are.
But back to the range report, loaded up some of those Speer's the other night and made a mistake and used Winchester's WLP instead of the CCI's. Well it seems that using different primers did not effect accuracy what so ever. Still very good groups. Had a 1 inch group going after four shots, then got all shook up and pulled the fifth shot low to open it up to a 1.5 incher.
Just wondering if you other fellas has had the same results, with different primers.

All I can do is echo your findings, the WLP primers seem to give the same groups, velocities and no change in POI. I have found Federal Magnum Pistol primers to open my groups some, but not drastically, about an inch, certainly not enough to make a difference in the feild.

The Remington factory-primed .44 mag's have a primer that seems to be a lot milder than the WLP. I get significantly different results from it.
I shoot bluedot a lot of times with the Rem' and then re-load with WLP's and use bulk wc-820 for good accuracy.

JPH, SS, and Tim;

Thanks a bunch, seems that things seem more critical at 100yds with a rifle than 25 or 50 yds with a handgun because of human error involved in shooting a handgun w/ iron sights.

I get tickled when I hear someone going gaga over 25 yard 2" groups with a handgun. While that is good, it is still 8" at 100. Certainly nothing to write home about. I consider 4" at the extreme range I will shoot at deer with a firearm minimum accuracy. Bench shooting is hardly anything like field shooting (I'm sure you know this) Get some adrinaline flowing, add in lously light and a crappy shooting position and group size grows by at least 75%. I completely missed a 6 pointer once, walked around a corner and there he stood. He watched (one of those dumb deer "what the hell is that" looks) as I shouldered a shotgun and fired a slug. He reacted promptly to that :shock: Range was 25 yards. Dooh!!!!!! I was simply reacting too quickly to the moment, and was much younger then too, but the only thing in my favor today on a shot like that would be my blood pressure medicine won''t let my heart rate climb above 60, so all I have to contend with these days my astonishment at my dumb luck :grin:
