.30-30 handgun

:cb2: Saw on the Magnum Research website that they now have a handgun in .30-30. Has anyone fired or purchased one of these yet?

Too bad it wasn't in 7.62x39. Now there'd be a cheap plinker. A case of that is cheaper than 9mm!

Bottlenecked cartridges traditionally do not function well in revolvers; perhaps MR has licked that problem.  I'd want to see a report or two first...

As for cheap plinking, you'd have to buy a LOT of surplus ammo to save any money on the BFR.  Even if it were chamgered in 7.62x39 it would still cost $999; a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 Carbine costs just $450, both retail. $549 is a lot to make up in ammo cost savings for two cheap surplus rounds!  ;)  :D

:cb2: Ah, come on now. Don't mess up my argument with common sense!  :-D

Griz, far be it for me to discourage anyone from buying a new gun!!  Heck, if I relied on common sense for my own firearm choices, I'd only have a dozen or two.... :D
