.357 195gr. DC from Precision rifle
« on: October 24, 2004, 01:00:23 PM »
I got out today to shoot my new bullets from Precision rifle in my Encore. I got the .357 195gr. DC from Precision rifle. I first tried the bullets with 2 triple7 pellets and it shot very well. My groups are about 1 inch at 100 yards. I then tried 100 gr. of loose triple7 and it shot to the same point of aim. I found the .357 195 DC from Precision rifle to be more accurate than my 295 gr. power belts. I sold all my power belts today and now have switched to the .357 195 DC from Precision rifle. Also I am shooting the 25ACP conversion.  :D

LUCKY ;)
I really counted on shooting that bullet with my new Omega but it goes 4".
I shot it last year in my Traditions Lighting, 2000fps over 100 gr 777.  Hit 2 deer at 170 yards, each made about 50 yards.  Shot another at 70 yards frontal, bullet expanded to a nickel and penetrated to the front edge of the stomach, flipping the deer over backwards and dead upon impact.  I like the bullet A LOT and would shoot it again despite the cost if I had accuracy.  Have fun with it!!

Thanks AndyHass, I hope to take a few deer this year with my muzzleloader still and will post the results. Also the price is not that bad if you order them in the 240 package. About .76 cents each compared to a little over a dollar for the power belts. Don't get me wrong, I like the power belts in my 50 cal and price had nothing to do with the change, but a flatter shooting projectile and better accuracy convinced me.  :D

Redhawk,
As you know I have been working with the .357 195 PR Bullets..

Yesturday I shot two packages. About 24 Rounds. I shot at 100 yards and they backed up too 150 yards. I have never in my life shot a deer at 150 yards (Mostly wooded Indiana Hunting). I lined up my scope exhaled and boom. Dead center, two more shots 1.56 inch group. I have never had a gun for firearms season here in Indiana Shoot that well. I would feel very comfortable at that range. When I get the 120 that I ordered last week in I am going to try 200, 250, and 300.

I have never had as much fun shooting and sighting in a gun. It is a blast to shoot. I am going to have the trigger worked on. I would say that is the only thing that I dislike about the gun.

My Gun:
Encore 209X50
.25 ACP Breech Plug
Bushnell 4200 Elite II
100 Grains Triple 7 pellets
.357 195 PR
Large Hinge Pins
"My Favorite Gun is the M16... I dont own one of those now, but one of my reminders of my service is a Communist Chinease assault rifle (AK47)-John Kerry

yep, I'm a believer too. I have to admit though, I have a bit of an edge on you guys. I shoot at the same range as cecil, so i try to catch him there to pick his brain about what he's developing.he's got lots of ideas......it will be interesting to see what he comes up with this year!!
you wanna take my guns? go ahead, it's your arm!
